Four More Things - Day Six

There are a LOT of things I could do with $400,000. I would want to do some charity work with some of it, donate some to research for Alzheimer's disease and send some money to my sponsored friend and her family in Mexico. But there are a few other selfish things I'd want to use it for, so here they are:

1) Pay back my parents. They have spent so much money on me. I'd love to be able to pay at least some of it back, for my college tuition and the money they spent on my first car.

2) Buy an old house.

Isn't that house beautiful?! The landscaping is gorgeous. I would love to actually own a house. Something in the country with some land for a garden and flowers. Either an old farmhouse or cottage. I'm not too picky...;)

3) Travel the world. Just see the world. The fifty states first and then outwards. I have a list of places I want to see, I can't even imagine having that much money to do whatever I wanted. I'd go everywhere!

4) Shopping spree! I could buy a TON of clothes with just $400. Sooo, it'd be pretty amazing to just have that much spending money. Lately I've been pinching pennies, I can't remember the last time I had a legit clothes shopping spree.

Four More Things - Day Five

So, I never cook...like really. My sister cooks. We are like a weird married couple. I come in from work expecting dinner on the table, she cooks, and then I clean the dishes. I know...it's sad. But anyways, I'm going to share my four favorite meals, regardless of who cooks!

1. White pizza. I love white pizza with onions, mushrooms, and spinach. MMMMMM. Mellow Mushroom has the best, but we've made many good ones at home as well.
2. Fresh vegetables! Such as squash, zucchini, and new potatoes. Oh my gosh. New potatoes need nothing more than butter, salt, and pepper. SOOO delicious and easy.
3. Asian Stir Fry. I made this with one of my co-workers at her house and it was sooo good! And easy! It's a great way to sneak in some vegetables such as broccoli, carrots, and peas.
4. Chicken marsala with mashed potatoes. I'm pretty sure I would marry potatoes if that was acceptable. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.

Lately...and Four More Things - Day Four

This week off has not been a good one so far. Wednesday started off good enough, I walked but mostly ran two miles, in the rain too! It was great and I felt so accomplished. But after that I went to visit my parents, only to find out that my dad was feeling horrible. He's been sick for weeks now, and he is never feeling good enough to even go to the doctor's office. So, I took him to the ER. They did several tests and said everything was normal. He had some IV medicines and then they sent us home. On the bright side, he is feeling a ton better! On the not-so-bright side, I am sick now. Ever since Wednesday night, I've had a sore throat, sinus congestion, and cough. After taking several pills and watching SO much netflix, I am feeling a bit better, but still not 100%. But laying around gets terribly boring so here I am, back to blogging. In case you forgot, I was participating in the Four More Things blog challenge with At Four O'Clock. Here is day four!

Four Secrets or guilty pleasures. This is kind of difficult, because most things I like are actually quite embarrassing to most people.

1. I own every single Jonas Brother CD.

Jonas Brothers

Okay, so this is not a current obsession. I don't like them at all now, but at one time I was a huge fan.  I was a pretty huge fan around 2008 - 2010. I saw their 3D concert in the theater and I was a bit older than most people seeing it. I think it may have been when they had their own show on Disney that made them unlikable. I haven't gotten rid of their cd's though...every now and then I get a craving to hear Burnin' Up and I just can't make myself throw their albums away. Haha.

2. I love young adult fiction.

Seriously. That IS motivating. A user-generated card from someecards.com, posted to Tumblr by Jacquelyn Levasseur

This isn't that uncommon in people my age, I don't think. But sometimes, I find it a lot easier to read youth books than adult books. Sometimes it can be a little annoying if the main character is in middle school, but honestly if you look at a list of my favorite books, you will see mostly young adult books. The Hunger Games, Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, and Harry Potter to name a few.

3. Nerdy shows like Doctor Who and Merlin.

every fandom ever.

I've mentioned these many times before, so they aren't secrets. But I am actually quite a big fan of Sci-fi tv. As lame as they may be, I really am addicted. Doctor Who, Merlin, Sherlock, old Supernatural, House...etc. I have watched waaaay too much television.

4. I have the Lego Harry Potter wii game, years 1-4.

And the fact that I can't get past Chamber of Secrets is really driving me crazy.

Four More Things - Day Three

I'm a little behind, but that's okay. It's insanely hard for me to pick four blogs because I have a TON of favorites. But here are four of my very favorites

1. Life is for Living // Okay, so this is my sister so I'm biased! =) But she is chronicling the life changes she has been working so hard to make. I'm so proud of who she is and where she is going in life!

2. A Thinking Place // I feel like Lacey is our long lost sister...Like my parents actually had three children but forgot to mention one of them lives in California. We have so very much in common! She is a very funny and sweet person. I love her blog!

3. A Rose with Happiness // Rosala has a really cool name, so there's cool points already. I've especially enjoyed reading her blog and looking at her beautiful pictures from her summer spent in Hawaii! You should definitely check it out!

4. Encouragement for Everyday Struggles // Britt is such an awesome person. Anytime I visit her blog, I feel like the her posts were meant just for me! It's like every post is related to just what I am going through. And who doesn't need a little encouragement sometimes?

Four More Things with At Four O'Clock

I was so excited when I read that Robin from At Four O'Clock was doing another "Four Things" blog challenge! I loved the first one, so today I'm starting Four More Things. Check out her great blog here.

Today's topic is four random photos from the past four years. Here goes:

2010 -

Me, Ricky, and Sarah waiting for fireworks on the 4th of July. This is a really random picture! haha.

2011 -

This was a picture of me taken for a modeling competition. I didn't win or anything, but it was a fun experience anyways.

2012 -

Everyone always say I favor Kristen Stewart. So this is my dad wearing an Edward Cullen wig and me, haha.

2013 -

One of my favorite doctors at work and me earlier this year!

Woodstock 2013

It's August, guys! How did this happen? This year is seriously flying by. Crazy, huh?

Do you guys remember when I did the Woodstock 5k last year? Well, it snuck up on us again. I cannot believe it's been a year!

That's a comparison from last year. I don't look very different, but this year it took me 37 minutes! Last year it took me 46, so I'm proud of the improvement. I realize almost 40 minutes isn't exactly record breaking, but it broke my PR, so I'm proud! I can't believe how far I've come since last August. As I was drinking water today, "hydrating", I was thinking about how I used to feel SO accomplished after drinking one bottle of water. I am up to at least 8 cups of water a day, sometimes more. I've drank as many as 12! Which I'm not sure is healthy...haha. I used to drink a Pepsi with every meal. I ordered one today, for the first time in a couple of weeks, and I didn't even drink half of it. It tasted weird, but I knew it was a "good one", ya know...not too much carby water or too sweet. Just right. But it tasted like straight up chemicals!

I didn't mean to preach about water, but it's just a great habit to pick up! I never drank water until this year, so it's definitely something anyone can incorporate into their daily lives. Not saying sodas are necessarily bad. In moderation, I think it's fine to have one now and again. But water is just the best choice! Okay, so I'm not sponsored by water so I'm gonna quit advertising it...

My current 5k goal is to start doing at least one a month, so that I can beat my record next year! I plan to legitimately train for next year.

Emily and me // Me, Anna, and Jennifer // Me and Jennifer

Happy weekend!
